Why DUMBO families choose Brooklyn Basement Dance Co.
- Walkable from the neighborhood. No car needed — DUMBO, Vinegar Hill, and Brooklyn Heights families can walk or bike here in under 10 minutes. The York Street F train puts Manhattan families 4 minutes from our door.
- Small classes, real attention. We cap our tots and mini classes at 10–12 dancers. Older groups max out around 15. That means your dancer gets corrections, encouragement, and room to grow.
- A full progression. Dancers can start at age 3 in creative movement and stay through high school in advanced hip hop, lyrical, and acro. Many of our teen dancers have been with us since they were 5.
- Vetted instructors. Every teacher working with minors is background-checked. Faculty bios are public, and most of our team has professional performance or competition experience.
- A stage to work toward. We hold two showcases a year — winter and spring — so dancers always have a goal on the calendar. It's what keeps them motivated through the season.
- Free trial, no pressure. Every new dancer gets a free trial class before committing. Use it to test the schedule, meet the teacher, and see if the energy fits your family.
